Nils Hempel, MA, is a classical archaeologist and information scientist. His research focuses on GIS methods, databases, and Roman urbanistics. After graduating, he worked for an e-commerce company as a web developer for six years. In 2019, he returned to academia, first working for the German Archaeological Institute and, since 2021, for the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, where he is developing cutting-edge web platforms for the KIŠIB project and the Antiquitatum Thesaurus.
