Join Us for the KIŠIB Project Kick-off Event in Berlin!

We are excited to announce the official launch of the new project “KIŠIB – Digital Corpus of Ancient West Asian Seals and Sealings”. To mark this occasion, we warmly invite you to our public kick-off event on 17 November 2025, from 17:00 to 20:00, at the Lise-Meitner-Saal of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BBAW), located at Unter den Linden 8, Berlin.

The evening will feature insights into the project’s goals, methodology, and future directions, alongside a warm welcome by the president of the academy, Christoph Markschies. Join us for a conversation about ancient seals, digital tools, and the importance of cultural heritage research in the digital age.

Dr. Sebastian Hageneuer is a West Asian and digital and computational archaeologist. His research focuses on 3D and database technologies, Archaeogaming as well as Mesopotamian seals and sealings. He leads one of the two research units of the KIŠIB project and has worked extensively on computational methods in archaeology.
